1882 Deep-Sea Diving Suit

It looks like an Alien rather than an underwater suit. This is a deep-sea diving suit circa 1882, designed by Alphonse and Théodore Carmagnolle and it is being shown at the National Marine Museum in Paris.
Looks very heavy and it seems only a strong and totally fit individual can carry this suit.
